ZOMG Pedobear!!! The hunter has become the hunted! Lucky for me, I'm a bit too old for his tastes.
Bought 2 of these puppies from DesuToys. Check'em out! I'm hoping they make a Longcat soon.

Nothing like a beer during some late-night coding to get your mind off the daily grind. This Barefoot stuff is pretty good. Tastes more like ginger ale than beer. Actually, a lot like Corona mixed with ginger ale.

I borrowed (read: "stole") this recipe from a very dear friend of ours who, unfortunately, is no longer with us (she moved out). I couldn't believe how easy it was when she first made it for us. To be honest, this was the best (read: "THE best") pizza I have had in a very long time. I mean, don't get me wrong, there are plenty of restaurants out there that make great pies, but this was something else to behold.
You can easily find yourself scarfing down an entire one of these in about a few minutes. I actually felt good after I ate it. Not "good" as in "satisfied" — believe me, I felt that too —, but "good" as in "fully alert and aware of my surroundings". Unlike other pizza magicians, whose food leaves you completely comatose, this pie made me happeh in my belleh. You'll be surprised how easy, cheap and quick you can make on of these. I purchased the following ingredients for about $40 AUD. That's enough stuff to make about 5 of these. So, without further ado, here are a few easy steps to making the best healthy, homemade, budget pizza! Ingredients:Steps:
You can put any kind of topping on this thing and just toss it in the oven for a few minutes. I made a Hawaiian pizza the other day and it was pretty good... Prettay... Prettaaaay... Prettay good. Seriously, this recipe gives me boners. Note the 'S' at the end of that last word. Yes, people, that's PLURAL form.
Huzzah!*Good for you if you don't put loads of shit on it...Comments [0]
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw these at the store the other day. Stop me if this is old news, but I had no idea they made Jack Daniels-filled chocolates. I went ahead and bought myself a little bag just for shits and giggles.
They are surprisingly tasty and, supposedly, filled with 7% JD. You can barely taste it, but who gives a shit, it's booze-filled chocolate!

The boss and I went to Balmain again this past Sunday for some lunch. The cafe we were hoping to get into was filled up and had no seats available, so we wound up wandering about for a suitable joint with good eats. We came upon 'Broom Tree Cafe' and, to my amazement, they had this on the menu:
This was the BEST schnitzel burger I've ever purchased. What's in it, you ask?
All this was served with homemade chips and aioli. I fucking swear to god, I heard my arteries harden just by looking at this magnificent sammich! If you're in Balmain, a Sydney suburb, you need to get to The Broom Tree Cafe and order this thing. FUCKING STAT!!!

I forget who the source of the following quote is as it was a pretty long time ago when I first heard it, but someone posted it in a Digg comment earlier today. I thought I'd go ahead and share it to spread the wealth:
"Morality is doing what's right, despite what you are told. Religion is doing what you're told, despite what is right." Upon reading it, I chuckled as it reminded me of the following comic:I'm an atheist, but I like to think that if there was a god, he'd be more like the one in the strip. What say you?

As some of you might have noticed, I've switched everything from the old site over to my new Posterous account. The decision didn't come easy, but I'm afraid it had to be made. The spam on my old Symphony install was getting way out of hand and maintaining the system was become a bit more laborious than it should have been.
Don't get me wrong, I still love Symphony as a platform, but with no upgrade path to the latest version I had to face losing everything I've posted so far. I fully realize that there's always the alternative of manually transferring over all the old content, but seriously, who really has the time to do that shit?
Why Posterous? Well, for one, it's clean. Everything within the management console has a clear and defined purpose. It's also dead simple to use. All I have to do send my account an email and it's posted, ready to go. My old version of Symphony was getting so slow and buggy, I just wanted to leave it behind and start fresh. Fresh without having to manually transfer over all my content.
Simply put, I chose Posterous over all the other blogging services because it is the most low-touch solution I've found that has everything I need to blog and nothing I don't.
Now, with all the maintenance crap out of the way, I can focus more on writing new stuff more often! And what better way to start than to explain how you can import content from any blog directly into your Posterous account.
Stay tuned!

Just a quick note to everyone. I'll be upgrading this site from the first iteration of Symphony to the latest and greatest version of the worlds greatest publishing platform. With the upgrade will come a slightly modified theme with a bit more content and integration with other services. I have already moved all of my articles over to the new platform. A pretty time-consuming task considering the fact that the design of the new version is so far apart from the one we're using, there is no upgrade path for content.
I 'might' be moving over the comments as well if I have time and placing redirects so search engines won't have to reindex everything.
Also, the forum will get a matching design; the default Vanilla install is just too boring for me... and everyone else.

For those of us in the know, we all saw it coming a mile away for a while now. Today I finally decided to pull the plug on my first real webventure; Jaia Interactive. For a good few years now, this site was host to my very first open source project, MyTopix. An open source PHP-base discussion board solution. It had a great following for a while until our hosting provider went monkey shit and decided to lose all our data.
Due to personal issues, it took a good month to get the site up and running again. I didn't even have the time to get to all our users to explain what was going on with the site. This was probably the first death blow to the project. It was young at the time and was starting to pick up a serious following. We were in position to compete against some of the bigger discussion board solutions out there and this disaster couldn't have come at a worse time.
The loss of data coupled with the amount of time it took to get back on our own feet was a serious blow to the project's credibility. We ended up having to start our community from a very old backup dated a year or so before the crash. The project's momentum never picked up again to the same level that it was.
Some time later I just lost complete interest in the site and wanted to move on to other things. Since then, I've been far too busy with other projects to even look at the site. Now, the old forum is a ghost town. Only a few of the regulars pop by every now and again.
All these factors brought me to the conclusion that it was time to take the site off life support. Everything will be removed and the domain will be redirected to this site. The data from the old support boards has all been saved and converted to a new Vanilla install on this site. I want to start the community up again, but take it in a different direction.
If you are a member of the MyTopix support boards and would like to stick around, just go to the new forums (via the link at the top of the page) and go through the password recovery process. Due to the differences in the way Vanilla and MyTopix store passwords, there is no simple way to transfer them across. Resetting your password is the only viable option at this point.
For the members of the board who were a part of the 'Mod Squad', you still retain your positions in the new forum install.
As soon as I get a chance, I'll go ahead and publish the MyTopix to Vanilla converter as I'm sure I won't be the only one who wants to move on.
I have quite a few things in store for this site within the next few months and this is only the first step. I hope that you will join me in taking this site to new places.
